45th Space Wing

The 45th Space Wing (Air Force) is the world's premier gateway to space. The Wing's mission is to enhance national strength through assured access to space for Dept of Defense, civil, and commercial users. Wing Headquarters is located at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. The following installations also belong to the Wing: Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Jonathan Dickinson Tracking Annex, Malabar Tracking Annex, Ascension, Antigua, and Air Force sites in Puerto Rico.

The mission of the 45th Space Wing Small Business Office is to promote effective outreach and training and maximize contracting opportunities for all small businesses. Linda Sherod is Chief of the office which is located in HQ building 423, Room C-110, at Patrick Air Force Base. She is the Wing representative to these organizations: Dept of Defense Southeast Region Council; Brevard Small Business Advisory Council (BSBAC); National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC); Brevard Community College Small Business Development Center (SBDC); Melbourne-Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce; Cocoa Beach Chamber of Commerce; NASA/KSC/State of Florida Technical Research & Development Authority's Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program.

Linda Sherod, Wing Small Business Office Director, Patrick AFB, Florida

Linda's 37 years of Air Force procurement experience enable her to help any small business with virtually any question or problem. During her 25 years as a Contracting Officer, she wrote contracts for all types of government requirements = commodities, services, construction, and R&D (research and development). Her knowledge of federal procurement regulations enables her to insure that the Wing Small Business Program is implemented to the fullest extent.
